Court prep just got a lot faster

★★★★★

"I used to spend two hours hyperlinking a 60-tab court book by hand. CourtPilot does it in under three minutes — and every link works on the first try."

Three steps. Zero uploads.

CourtPilot runs entirely on your computer. Your documents never leave your desk.

1

Drop your PDF or Word file

Drag a court book, factum, or compendium directly into CourtPilot. Word documents are converted to PDF automatically via Microsoft Word or LibreOffice.

2

Choose your settings

Pick your tab-reference format, set the output folder, and toggle options like bookmarks and exhibit links. Settings are saved automatically for next time.

3

Get a fully hyperlinked PDF

Hit Run. CourtPilot scans every page, detects every tab and cross-reference, and writes a new PDF with working hyperlinks — in seconds.

Everything a litigator needs

Auto Tab Hyperlinking

Detects "Tab 3", "Tab A", "Schedule 1", "Exhibit B" and dozens of other formats. Generates clickable links to each tab divider page.

100% Offline

Runs entirely on your local machine. No internet connection needed, no accounts, no syncing — your client documents stay on your desk.

Word → PDF Conversion

Converts .docx, .doc, and .rtf via Microsoft Word or LibreOffice — preserving your exact formatting before hyperlinking begins.

PDF Bookmarks

Generates a bookmark tree from your tab structure so judges and opposing counsel can navigate in any PDF reader.

Batch Processing

Drop a folder of PDFs or a multi-part court book. CourtPilot processes every file in sequence and saves results to your output folder.

Seconds, Not Hours

A typical 60-tab court book is processed in under 90 seconds — running at your CPU's full speed, not waiting in a cloud queue.

Mac & Windows

One licence covers both platforms. A file processed on a MacBook and a Windows PC produces an identical court-ready PDF.

AI-Assist (Optional)

Opt-in online mode catches ambiguous cross-references with AI. Off by default — you enable it per session, and no documents are ever stored.

Privacy first

Your clients' files
never leave your office.

CourtPilot was designed around one constraint: client documents stay on your machine. No cloud processing, no SaaS uploads, no third-party servers — ever.

All PDF parsing and link injection happens locally using PyMuPDF — an open-source, auditable library.
Licence validation is fully offline — cryptographic HMAC, zero licence-server calls.
No telemetry, no analytics, no crash reports — nothing phones home by default.
Online AI Mode is opt-in, clearly labelled, and governed by a strict no-storage API policy.

Common questions

Does it really work offline?
Yes. CourtPilot never opens a network connection during processing. All PDF parsing, link injection, and bookmark generation happen on your machine using open-source libraries. You can verify this with a firewall or network monitor.
What file formats are supported?
Any standard PDF. CourtPilot also accepts .docx, .doc, and .rtf files — converting them to PDF first via Microsoft Word (if installed) or LibreOffice, then hyperlinking the result.
Which tab-reference formats does it recognise?
CourtPilot handles "Tab 1 / Tab A / Tab A-1", "Exhibit A", "Schedule 1", "Volume II", and configurable custom patterns. New formats are added with each release — email us if yours isn't covered.
What is the AI-assist feature?
An optional mode that sends only extracted text (not page images or the original PDF) to an AI API to catch ambiguous cross-references. It's off by default; you enable it per session. No document text is ever stored by the API provider.
How does licensing work?
After purchase you receive a licence key by email. Enter it once in the app — validation happens offline via cryptographic signature, no server calls. Keys survive reinstalls and OS upgrades.
Can I upgrade from Solo to Firm?
Yes. Email hello@courtpilot.ca and we'll issue a prorated Firm key that picks up from your current renewal date. No double billing.
Do I need Microsoft Word installed?
Only for Word-to-PDF conversion (.docx/.doc/.rtf). CourtPilot uses Word's native engine for perfect fidelity, then falls back to LibreOffice. For PDF-only workflows, no Word is needed at all.
What is your refund policy?
30-day no-questions-asked refund on annual plans. Because the 14-day trial is fully functional, we honour refunds up to 30 days after first payment. Email hello@courtpilot.ca.
